In the adult stage, English ivy produces lobeless, elliptic-ovate, dark green leaves that appear on rootless stems that do not spread or climb Flower Description and Time of Bloom: Flowers bloom from September to October, but the flowers are not relevant. Cultural Requirements—Preferences: English ivy is easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade to full shade; also grows in full sun. Tolerates a wide range of soils, but prefers rich loams. Tolerates some drought, but produces best foliage color in evenly moist soils. Interesting Information/Problems: Spider mites can be a significant problem.
